The History of the Chevrolet Corvette Emblems
There have been many changes to Corvette emblems since its introduction in 1953. Mostly the changes
occurred with a change in body style/generation (C1, C2, C3, etc). There were also different logos for
certain anniversaries or special editions. Below you will see all of the different emblems that adorned
the Corvette over its 71 year existence.
1st Generation Corvette
(C1: 1953-1962)
The Original (pre-production 1953)
The original Corvette Emblem incorporated the American flag.
But due to issues with using the American flag in advertising, they had to remove the American Flag
and come up with a different design.
1953-1955
This is the first design to appear on the 1953 production Corvette:

2nd Generation Corvette
(C2: 1963-1967)

3rd Generation Corvette
(C3: 1968-1982)
Strangely, the emblem did not change from the previous generation's emblem when the C3 was introduced.
Meaning 1967 and 1968 share the same emblem. This was the only emblem to appear on multiple Corvette generations.

25th "Silver" Anniversary. The first emblem to celebrate a Corvette production anniversary.
1979 (shared with 1977)
1980-1981
During 1980, 1981 & 1982 production of the Corvette took place at two factories, the original in St. Louis, MO
and the new one (which is still in use today) in Bowling Green, KY.

"Collector's Edition" celebrating the last year of the 3rd generation Corvette
1983
(There was no 1983 production model sold to the public.)
4th Generation Corvette
(C4: 1984-1996)
With the exception of the 1993 40th anniversary emblem and the 1996 Collector's Edition emblem,
the emblem used for the C4 stayed unchanged for the entire generation.

1988 35th Anniversary
Celebrating Corvette's 35th year of production.
1993 40th Anniversary
Celebrating Corvette's 40th year of production.
1996 CE
"Collector's Edition" celebrating the last year of the 4th generation Corvette
5th Generation Corvette
(C5: 1997-2004)
With the exception of the 2003 50th anniversary emblem,
the emblem used for the C5 stayed unchanged for the entire generation.

Celebrating Corvette's 50th year of production.
6th Generation Corvette
(C6: 2005-2013)
With the exception of the 2012 Chevrolet Centennial Edition and 2013 60th anniversary emblem,
the emblem used for the C6 stayed unchanged for the entire generation.
2005-2013
2012 Chevrolet Centennial Edition
To celebrate Chevrolet's 100th anniversary, a "Centennial Edition" Corvette was offered in 2012.
Among many features that made it distinctive, a special emblem was installed on the nose of the 2,201 Corvettes that
were ordered with the Centennial Edition option that year.
2013 60th Anniversary
Celebrating Corvette's 60th year of production.
7th Generation Corvette
(C7: 2014-2019)
One of the shortest production runs of a Corvette generation saw only one emblem
used for the C7 generation.
