clutch enagement on hill (1/11)

clutch seems balky/jumpy starting on hills. anyone having same problem. is it me or the clutch? z51 06 vert.

Just what is a "vert?" Could that be a convertible, or maybe a roadster? Come on, cute doesn't seem right when we're talking about a real sports car. |smile|

Excuse me your majesty but this term is used all the time...maybe in your state they have not heard of it.
I have had several vettes and that term has been around for several years.
Do you even know about the wave????

Vert? have own a 77, 85, 86,87,93,98,03, now driving a 07,First time for the term Vert. No harm or in your face reply, Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

Does that mean you don't know what "Vert" is? It is short for "Convertible"

There are a bunch of terms I didn't know when I got into the Vette world. I still forget what "NOS" stands for.

NOS = new old stock (old parts, but never used ergo new)

Vert = common term for convertable; where you guys been?

To op: no issues with my clutch on a hill though I may tend to over rev and slip it a bit on a really steep hill.

In response to the original question...
It is most likely just a combination of your driving style, and the design of the clutch system.
It may also be that there is an issue with the flywheel, as I believe it is a dual-mass assembly, and they can feel a bit jumpy at times.
Are there any unusual noises associated with it at that time, such as a dull thunk/clunk?

no noises just jumpy and balky. Changed hydraulic clutch fluid as it was not clean . recommend once a year. Has helped a little but not completely. Must be my driving/clutch work. thanks

Its always been a problem with the clutch on the engine and the trans in the rear to get a little jutter especially creeping in slow traffic you really have to learn how to drive in a way to reduce the problem    I always wondered why they cant put the clutch in the rear  automatics have the torque converter in the rear ?

frequently terminology is just a local or circle of contacts type of thing. I've never heard of vert at a short cut  for convertible. And I have an 06 gray convertible! By the way, as in government lingo, NOS specifically means "not otherwise specified". NOS on cars appears to be "nitrous oxide system" a brand name. As nitrous itself is N2O. So we read and we learn and we now know just a little more than we did earlier today!! I do!

I'll offer it could be clutch issues, worn or contamination, motor mounts, or propeller shaft bushings. The service manual gives a great deal of information and specifications for testing these things out. Mostly opening the car up to see the clutch or the bushings is nearly all of the work needed to install a new one!! Motor mount tests has a 24mm deflection test that sounds like a dumb way to run your car through the back wall of the garage so read carefully and have a good buddy to help you. 
I'm waiting for mine to slip noticeably then I'll take her apart and do it all at one time.
