It appears that one does not have to go to the noiser mufflers when long tube headers and x pipes are installed. Also, the big downside to aftermarket mufflers is droning (or resonance) at 1800-2000 rpm. Some brands of aftermarket claim no droning. I believe Corsa is one of the claimers...from an ad in a Corvette mag I just read.

I have had Corsa on my last three vettes.  Absolutely love them.  On my current 09 convertible I have Corsa pipes, Kooks headers and ram air intake.  The increase in horsepower is awesome. But the sound is quiet until you get on it,  then it really blasts.

No drone at all, just great sound on command

The dealer where I bought the car said it would not at his location.  I had work done on the other vettes at other locations with no problem.  The horsepower was boosted at the engine to about 515 hp.  Rear wheels hp and torque right at 400.  Total cost about 3000.  I am extremely pleased with the whole package.  The performance and sound are awesome.
