I have a C6 base year 2005 and I got 2 problems:
1: sometime i get Code C0242 and I also get ....Engine reduce Power.... I stop the car and take away the negative cable from the Battery, waiting 5 minutes then start and no problem this happens sometimes.
2: I get always U1000 Class 2 symptom 00. If I delete all codes and start and I can drive many miles without no problem and no Engine reduce power but I get always code U1000. Please give me some advice!
Code C0242: It’s like the car’s way of saying, “Hey, something’s fishy in the traction control department!” ๐๐
Here’s the lowdown:
What It Means: The Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a traction control malfunction. Yep, the TCS (Traction Control System) is giving it side-eye. Maybe it’s feeling a bit rebellious today. ๐คจ
Possible Culprits:
What to Do:
The U1000 code isn’t just any code; it’s like the car’s way of saying, “Hey, communication breakdown in the Matrix!” ๐
So, what’s the scoop on U1000? Here’s the lowdown:
Definition: U1000 stands for “Invalid or Missing Data for Primary ID.” Fancy, right? It’s like the car’s version of a cryptic crossword clue. ๐
Translation: Imagine your car as a bustling cocktail party, and all the control modules (ECM, BCM, EBCM, and their friends) are mingling, sharing gossip about tire pressure, fuel mixtures, and who’s got the best exhaust note. Now, U1000 happens when two modules—one sipping digital martinis—suddenly stop exchanging pleasantries. They’re like, “Sorry, can’t chat right now; I’m buffering.” ๐ค
Probable Causes:
Fact #3: But fear not! Here’s your troubleshooting toolkit:
Thank you Adam for quick answer!
I have search after all I can find of electrical connections. I have taken them apart and washed and sprayed with contact spray.
I have removed the fuse box in the engine compartment and taken it apart, washed it and used contact spray.Cleaned all ground connections in the engine compartment also under the battery. A new battery and also a new throttle pedal.
All electrical connections under the Passengers feet are cleaned and contact spray.
I now just drive the car this month out then into the garage and lift it up and look under the car for all the connections and wash and so on.
Now I have received some more tips from you, so I just have to keep looking.
Regards
